Date: 03/06/2026
The Cho Lab participated in the 2026 Department of Energy Environmental Management (DOE-EM) Symposium held at Texas State University on March 6, 2026. The event brought together researchers and students at TXST to share their work and discuss environmental science and energy-related research.
Two Cho Lab graduate students, Kathleen I Shank and Himmat Basnet, presented their research through poster presentations at the symposium. Their work highlighted ongoing research efforts within the lab and contributed to the broader scientific exchange at the event.
Kathleen presented her poster titled “Modeling PFAS Hotspots Under Hydrologic and Climatic Stressors Using Geospatial Analysis and Machine Learning,” while Himmat presented his poster titled “Accessing Hydrological Controls on PFOS Transport in the San Antonio River Watershed Using SWAT+ Model”.
Both Kathleen and Himmat were honored with the Gold Poster Award in recognition of their outstanding presentations. The Cho Lab congratulates them on this achievement and looks forward to their continued research contributions and future successes.
