Dr. Shangyong Shi Visits the Cho Lab at Texas State University

Last Friday, the Cho Lab hosted Dr. Shangyong Shi at Texas State University! Dr. Shi is the Pim Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences, Johns Hopkins University, where her research deals with precipitation phase, hydroclimatology, and how a changing climate is reshaping streamflow.

Dr. Shi shared her work with the crowd, walking us through how precipitation phase is changing as the climate warms, covering the trend, its physical controls, and the impacts on snowpack. She inspired and motivated the students with her work and presentation.

After the presentation, we also had a lunch with Dr. Shi, and it turned into a really fun get-together. Lots of great discussions, and conversations around ongoing as well as future works and collaborations.
